I've been working on computers - Apple/Mac, Windows, you name it - for over 20 years and can offer diagnostic and hardware replacement services for computers of all ages (including the REALLY old ones.) If a part is damaged beyond this world I can help you find an identical replacement or upgrade if available.
Having lost important files, I know how devastating it can be. If you're having trouble recovering them I can help. Whether from a laptop or desktop, I can create a backup and place it on the media of your choice including: another computer, external hard drive, or USB flash drive. I can also provide a CD or DVD if you prefer.
Please Note: I will use all tools and techniques available to me, however, I can offer no guarantee that I will be able to recover your files. In the event your files are not recoverable I can offer a partial refund and suggest other options for you to try.
I like to restore old technology and help it avoid the dump. If you're in Chico or Butte County and are thinking of throwing out any obsolete or broken computers, radios, projectors, antennas or any other old electronics taking up space I can pick them up for you for free. If I can't fix it, donate it, or use it, my last resort is to recycle.
My only exception would be for items that are classified as hazardous waste or would require a fee at the e-waste recycling center. Call me if you're uncertain and we can discuss what qualifies and what the fees would be.
My specialty is computer repair but I am also familiar with the basic maintenance of all kinds of electronics. If you can't find someone to repair it call me and I'll try to help.

When giving away old computers with hard drives it's important to wipe all sensitive information before throwing out or donating. I can provide software that can do this securely so your data remains safe.
